Examination and Evaluation

Education, as a planned endeavour, should aim at making children capable of becoming active, responsible, productive and caring members of the society. It is therefore, deemed essential that it must promote and nourish a wide range of capacities and skills in learners.

Examination Pattern-Primary Wing

Following the CBSE directives, the Primary Wing awards grades instead of marks.

  • There are two terms in each session – TERM I & TERM II.
  • Term I- April to September
  • Term II- October to March
  • Subjects offered are:
  • Class III-English, Hindi, Mathematics, EVS, G.K. and Computer.
  • Class IV and V: English, Hindi, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, G. K. and Computer.
  • In each Term, 2 Written Assessments are held each carrying a weightage of 25 marks for Class III and 40 marks for Classes IV and V.
  • Students are assessed through regular assignments, activities, spell check, projects etc.
  • Assessment is done on the basis of continuous and cumulative performance of the student.
  • Subjects are assessed on the basis of the following parameters:

English & Hindi: ICT Enabled Activity Sheet, Individual Activity, Group Activity, Reading Comprehension, Spell Check, Class/Home Assessment and Written Assessment

Mathematics: Conceptual Learning Assessment, Logical and Analytical Skills, Activity / Project, Maths Lab Activity, Class/Home Assessment and Written Assessment

EVS, Science & Social Science: Conceptual Learning Assessment, ICT Enabled Activity Sheet /Observation Sheet, Activity /Project, Class/Home Assessment and Written Assessment

  • The students are also given online practice assignments to enhance their concepts.
  • Grades are awarded for Art and Craft, Music and Dance, Sports, Yoga and Aerobics and Clubs.
  • Yearly Planner and Monthly Planner is posted on ERP Portal to update parents about the syllabus, activities and the date sheet.
  • The result is uploaded on ERP Portal two days prior to the Result Declaration PTM.
  • Computerized Report Card (First Term Report & Annual Report along with the Life Skills Report) is given to the parents at the end of each term.

CLASSES VI TO X

Examination for the academic year 2021-22 will be conducted as per the remodeled assessment structure following the latest CBSE directives for classes VI –X which includes three major categories i.e. Scholastic, Co scholastic and Discipline.

Each Session comprises of two Terms:

Term 1: April to September

Term 2: October to March

Assessment Structure

  • The students would be assessed on a continuous basis through a series of Periodic tests and Term Examination.
  • Two Periodic tests per term i.e. Unit Test 1, Pre mid-term, Unit Test 2 and Post mid-term will be conducted having a weightage of 40 marks each.
  • Pre-Mid-term and Post Mid-term tests will form the components of internal assessment.
  • Mid-term Examination paper is of 80 marks.
  • Subject Wise Internal Assessment VI-X (As per latest CBSE guidelines) include –
    • Pen Paper Test –                  5 marks
    • Multiple Assessment –       5 marks
    • Portfolio –                             5 marks
    • Subject Enrichment Activity – 5 marks

EVALUATION SCHEME FOR CLASSES XI

Each academic year would be divided into two terms:

TERM I – April to September         TERM II –October to March

In each Term, two tests for each subject shall be conducted for 40 marks each. Two Periodic Tests Per Term         Each reduced to 25 to get a total of 50 Terminal Exam                                                  100 MARKS

It is mandatory to secure 33% in all subjects (both elective & optional), separately in Theory  

and Practical for promotion to the next class.

Note for classes X and XII

  • Reinforcement Examination will be conducted after the summer break.
  • Mid Term Examination will be conducted in the month of September.
  • Second Term Examination will be conducted in the month of November.
  • Pre-Board Examination will be conducted in the month of December /January.
  • Annual Examination will be conducted as per the CBSE schedule.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR CLASSES VI-XII

  1. Periodic Test shall be conducted as per schedule shared by School.
  2. Every student is expected to maintain in record at least 75% attendance during the year.
  3. It is mandatory for the students to appear in the Terminal Examination. In case a student misses his / her Term Exam on medical grounds or any mishap in the family or On Duty assigned by school, the students will be tested for the same on a later date.
  4. No neutralization of marks will be done in case the student misses the Test / Term Examination for any other reason. In such cases the student will be marked ‘ZERO’.
  5. The exemption from a test shall be only on medical grounds or due to mishap in the family provided the leave application reaches well in time.
  6. The application for the same must be submitted within 24 hours and medical certificate within 48 hours. The medical certificate furnished must indicate the disease and the dates of rest period suggested. In case of contagious disease or prolonged illness medical certificate must indicate the suggested period by the doctor.
  7. No interim leave shall be granted on the test day.
  8. Students should refrain from coming to school in case of sickness.
  9. For classes VI -IX promotion to the next class shall be based on the Annual result.
  10. For class XI, Promotion to the next class shall be based on the Cumulative result.
  11. It shall be mandatory for the students to qualify in all major subjects.
  12. For the students of Classes VI to XII, the performance will be reflected in percentage and Grades as per the nine-point scale given below:
